Evaluation of Observed and Future Climate Change Projection for Uttarakhand, India, Using CORDEX-SA

The climate change scenarios, especially global warming, have raised significant concerns, and the Himalayan regions such as Uttarakhand are highly vulnerable to climatic shifts. Considering 10 Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiments in South Asia (CORDEX-SA), experiments with 3 regional models (RCMs), driven by 13 models, historical estimates future projections analyzed from mid-century (MC) i.e., 2021–2050 end of century (EC) 2070–2099 characterize annual seasonal variations precipitation temperature. analysis shows a decrease average 5.92% at MC an increase 5.97% EC for Representative Pathway (RCP) 4.5, while may likely 2.83% 15.89% towards RCP 8.5. maximum temperature 0.42 °C 3.07 4.5 0.83 5.49 In addition, minimum 0.80 3.25 0.30 5.86 Notably, pre-monsoon higher during monsoon season observed. An along lead frequency season’s extreme rainfall events.
